Core Gaming Slots – What To Expect

The bulk of the company’s output consists of mobile friendly slots. At the time of writing, there are around forty different titles in the Core Gaming portfolio. These cover a wide variety of subjects and genres. The design team tend not to focus too much on the traditional slot themes, although there are some exceptions. Indeed, a couple of Egyptian themed titles come to mind, with Egyptian Queen and Pharaoh’s Wild keeping fans of the ancient pyramids happy.

These exceptions aside though, most of the titles in the Core Gaming locker are more difficult to categorise into a familiar slot theme. One thing they are definitely renowned for is a punning title: some more successful than others.

Grabba Dabba Dough may well have the copyright lawyers for The Flinstones’ creators Hanna-Barbera reaching for their quill pens, while Wolf on Win Street and Rolling Stone Age may also come close to upsetting some of m’ learned friends. On the other hand, some will have pretty much all of us making cease and desist orders as they occasionally try just a little bit too hard. Sir Jackpotsalot must surely be a prime example of this.

The company do indeed seem to have a preoccupation with cash puns, with other such titles including Cashzuma and the Tomb of Wonga, Captain Cashfall, Cashed in Stone and Cobra Cash. Crazy Veg on the other hand, is just plain wacky. Many of the company’s titles could fall under the classic slot category. Bar Star, Chameleonaire, Candy Grab and Vegas Lights are probably good examples of this.

Some of these titles genuinely are old, whereas others attempt to re-create a nostalgic atmosphere from a more modern design. Galactic Strike is a good example of this. It is a relatively recent release (2018), but it is definitely attempting to recreate a bit of a 1980s space invader vibe.

More impressive designs include another punning attempt: Red Hot Chilli Steppa, and the imaginative Balthazar’s Wild Emporium.

One obvious outlier in the company’s output is their single officially licenced game. This is a slot version of the classic 1960s British slapstick comedy from the Carry On gang – Carry On Camping. Cartoon depictions of vintage comedy icons like Sid James and Barbara Windsor could be just what the doctor ordered if you are of a certain age…
